Structural Designer

Wesbell is seeking a Structural Designer who will be responsible for 2D drafting, 3D modeling and detailing of green field telecommunication towers, rooftop structures, and other steel and concrete structures as well as coordination within project teams.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Work with the Engineers to develop 2D CAD drawings for steel structures and reinforced concrete foundations
• Provide 3D modeling of steel towers with Tekla Structures
• Detailing of welded and bolted steel connections
• Preparation of tower fabrication and installation drawings
• Prepare material takeoffs and Bill of Material (BOM)
• Liaise/Coordinate with the Project Manager (PM), fabrication, civil operations, and other project teams
• Assist in building and upgrading the structural design library and product catalogue
• Site visit/inspection as required
• Other duties and tasks as appropriate to the needs of the business

Education (THeoretical Training)

• University degree/diploma in Structural Engineering Program, or appropriate level of experience

QUALIFICATIONS

1. 5+ years experience of structural steel tower detailing and CAD drafting
2. Proficient in use of AutoCAD is a must
3. Experience in various types of steel and concrete construction methodologies
4. Experience in conventional and deep foundation systems
5. Advanced skills in use of Tekla detailing software is considered as an asset
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
7. Good written and oral communication skills (English essential)
8. Accountability for assigned work
9. Self motivated, detail oriented and ability to multi-task
10. Self-starter with the ability to work both in a team environment and independently
